Source reviewed September 28, 2026: Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism attraction listing. Operational details may change; verify with the venue or your operator before traveling.
Choose your activities
The Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism lists swimming, kayaking and a cave that can be explored on foot. It also describes a makeshift zipline that drops into the deeper lagoon, explicitly warning that visitors use it at their own risk. You do not need to attempt the jump to enjoy the site; the green space and on-site restaurant and bar make a slower visit possible.
Water conditions and supervision can change. Do not jump into unfamiliar water, and ask on site about depth, current access and any restrictions before swimming or kayaking.
Getting there and planning ahead
The official tourism listing places Dudú in Cabrera, about two hours by road east of Puerto Plata and roughly an hour from Playa Grande. Treat those as orientation, not guaranteed travel times; traffic, weather and road conditions affect the journey.
Confirm admission, opening hours and kayak availability locally before driving out. The ministry's attraction page does not provide a current fee or timetable. A separate beach stop on the north coast can complement the lagoon, but leave enough time to return in daylight.
